Relatively near to Mexico City, Teotihuacan is one of the most significant archaeological sites of pre-Columbian civilization. During its golden age around 450 CE, Teotihuacan was among the largest cities in the world. The city complex is notable for large pyramids and well-preserved architecture and murals.
